Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique

What Is QHHT? Understanding Dolores Cannon's Method

By Cindy de Viveros

Why I chose Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique and why I believe it offers such a unique path toward self-understanding.

Every regressionist develops a way of guiding people.

Some methods focus on brief sessions.

Some emphasize suggestion.

Others are designed around specific therapeutic goals.

When people discover that I practice Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique, commonly known as QHHT, one of the first questions they ask is:

"What makes it different?"

The answer isn't simply the technique.

It's the philosophy behind it.

QHHT is much more than a method of hypnosis.

It is an invitation to listen to yourself more deeply than most of us ever allow in our everyday lives.

It is built on the belief that every person already carries within them the wisdom they seek.

Sometimes we simply need the right environment to hear it.

Who Was Dolores Cannon?

Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique was developed by Dolores Cannon, a regressionist, author, and researcher who spent more than four decades exploring consciousness through hypnosis.

Beginning in the 1960s, Dolores worked with thousands of clients.

As her experience grew, she noticed that some people naturally entered an exceptionally deep state of hypnosis, one that seemed to allow access to memories, profound personal insight, and what many described as a wiser aspect of themselves.

Rather than forcing people into this state, Dolores refined a gentle process that allowed it to happen naturally.

Over time, this became what is now known as QHHT.

She also wrote numerous books documenting her observations and the extraordinary experiences shared by her clients.

Whether readers interpret those experiences literally, symbolically, psychologically, or spiritually, her work encouraged people around the world to think differently about consciousness and human potential.

But beyond the books and the technique, there was something else about Dolores that deeply resonated with me.

It was her intention.

Throughout her work, Dolores often spoke about the idea that souls are here to help one another.

Not through superiority.

Not through having all the answers.

But through compassion, service, and the willingness to accompany one another on life's journey.

That philosophy is, to me, the true heart of QHHT.

More Than a Technique

When I first discovered Dolores Cannon's work, my reaction wasn't simply,

"This method seems effective."

It was much deeper than that.

I felt,

"This is the right one."

Not because it promised extraordinary experiences.

Not because it spoke about past lives.

But because I recognized the intention behind it.

The idea that every soul has the ability, and perhaps even the responsibility, to help other souls grow.

That understanding resonated with something very deep inside me.

It aligned with everything I had been studying for decades through Buddhist Psychology, Transpersonal Psychology, and my own personal journey.

I realized that guiding someone through regression wasn't about becoming the expert on their life.

It was about creating a space where they could become the expert on themselves.

That distinction changed everything.

What Makes QHHT Different?

One of the defining characteristics of QHHT is the depth of relaxation it seeks to achieve.

During a session, the goal is to gently guide the client toward what is known as the somnambulistic state, a naturally occurring level of hypnosis associated with deep relaxation and heightened access to the subconscious mind.

Although the term may sound intimidating, the experience itself is often described as peaceful, calm, and surprisingly natural.

One way I like to explain it is this.

Our analytical mind, often associated with the left hemisphere of the brain, is wonderfully suited for planning, analyzing, comparing, and solving problems.

Those are essential abilities.

But they can also make it difficult to simply experience.

QHHT gently encourages that analytical activity to quiet down for a while, allowing the more intuitive, imaginative, and creative aspects of the mind to come forward.

Many people describe it as finally hearing a quieter voice that has always been there beneath the constant noise of everyday thinking.

You are never unconscious.

You are never controlled.

You are simply deeply relaxed.

Why QHHT Sessions Are Longer

One of the first things people notice when they compare QHHT to other forms of hypnosis is the length of the session.

A typical QHHT session lasts approximately four to five hours.

That isn't by accident.

The first part of our time together is dedicated entirely to conversation.

We explore your life.

Your questions.

Your relationships.

Your joys.

Your fears.

Your recurring patterns.

The experiences that have shaped who you are.

Some people wonder why we spend so much time talking before the hypnosis even begins.

The answer becomes beautifully clear later.

During the regression, pieces begin to connect.

A fear you mentioned during our conversation suddenly takes on new meaning.

A recurring relationship reveals an unexpected lesson.

A challenge you've carried for years begins to make sense within a much larger story.

One by one, the pieces of the puzzle begin finding their place.

For me, this is one of the most beautiful moments in every session.

Watching years of questions slowly transform into understanding reminds me that nothing in our lives is random.

Sometimes what we have called our weaknesses...

Our fears...

Even our illnesses...

May actually be the quiet ways in which our soul has been calling us toward the life we were always meant to live.

Not as punishment.

But as guidance.

Not to hold us back.

But to gently lead us toward becoming the happiest, most authentic version of ourselves.

The Higher Self

One of the unique aspects of QHHT is that many people describe connecting with what Dolores Cannon referred to as the Higher Self.

People often ask me what that means.

The truth is...

I don't think there are words capable of fully describing the experience.

It's one of those things that can be explained intellectually, but not truly understood until it is experienced.

Some people describe it as an overwhelming sense of wisdom.

Others experience unconditional love.

Some simply know, with remarkable clarity, what they need to understand in that moment.

Each experience is deeply personal.

Rather than trying to define it for my clients, I prefer allowing them to discover what it means for themselves.

Some experiences are simply too profound to fit neatly into language.

You'll Receive More Than a Memory

Every QHHT session is audio recorded.

That recording becomes one of the most valuable parts of the experience.

Many clients tell me they hear things during their second or third listening that they had completely forgotten.

This is perfectly natural.

During such a deeply immersive experience, your attention is focused on the journey itself.

Listening again often reveals new layers of meaning.

In many ways, the session continues long after you leave my studio.

Integration doesn't happen in a single afternoon.

It unfolds gradually, sometimes over weeks or even months, as new understanding naturally finds its place in your life.

Common Misconceptions About QHHT

Because hypnosis is often misunderstood, it's helpful to clear up a few common myths.

QHHT is not stage hypnosis. No one will ask you to dance, forget your name, or lose control of your actions.

QHHT is not mind control. You remain aware throughout the session. You hear my voice. You can speak whenever you wish. You can stop at any time.

QHHT is not sleep. Although your body may become deeply relaxed, your awareness remains present. Many clients are surprised afterward by how natural the experience felt. Most simply describe it as one of the deepest states of relaxation they have ever experienced.

Why I Continue Choosing QHHT

People sometimes ask whether I might one day train in other methods.

Perhaps I will.

Learning never ends.

But I believe I will always return to QHHT.

Because beneath the technique lies something much more important.

An intention.

An invitation.

A profound respect for the wisdom already living within every human being.

I don't see myself as someone who gives people answers.

I simply help create the conditions where their own answers can emerge.

That has always felt like sacred work to me.

An Invitation to Discover Your Own Answers

One of my hopes for every client is not that they leave believing everything they experienced literally happened.

My hope is something much simpler.

That they leave feeling as though the pieces of their life's puzzle have finally begun to find their place.

The journey doesn't end when the session ends.

In many ways, it is only beginning.

From that moment forward, your invitation is simply to honour what you experienced.

To remain curious.

To continue listening.

To trust the quiet wisdom that revealed itself.

Because whether you understand your experience as spiritual, symbolic, psychological, or something beyond words, it is uniquely yours.

And perhaps that's the greatest gift QHHT offers.

Not certainty.

Understanding.

If you feel called to explore your own journey, I would be honoured to walk beside you.

Not to tell you what your story means.

But to help you create the space where your own soul can begin telling it.

After all...

Your soul already knows the way.
